Hyperbaric medicine is based on one remedy: pure oxygen which is inhaled under pressure higher than atmospheric and inside special devices called hyperbaric chambers.
Oxygen is necessery for realization of all life processes; it is basic life substance. Man can live without food for 30-40 days, 3-4 days withou water but only 3-4 minutes without oxygen!
The cause or effect of the largest number of illnesses is decreased or blocked transport of oxygen to cells as end users and subsequent suffering of cells, tissues, organs and the organism as a whole (hipoxy and anoxy). Timely application of oxygen prevents cell or organism damage due to the lack of oxygen and leads to healing, regeneration and complete recovery of the organism in case damage has already occured.
Therapeutic effect of oxygen has been known since its discovery around 1750. Since then, oxygen has been used more than any therapeutic substance known to man. It has been applied in all world hospitals with the use of catheters, masks, injections, incubators, local applications with only some specialized institutions having hyperbaric chambers.
Decompression disease, gas embolism, gas gangrene, carbon-monoxide poisoning, stroke, cardiac arrest after its acute period, burns, diseases of veins and artheries, artheriosclerosis, Reyno and Burger's disease, tromboembolism, vein ulcus, angina pectoris, vasculitis in autoimune diseases, migrenes and other headaches, vascular impotence, vascular sterility, diabetes and its complications (damage of blood vessels, gangrenes, ishemy, deterioration of vision, kidney function), acute psoriasis, stomach and duodenal ulcuses, ulcerose and pseudomembranose collitis, viral, toxic and infectious hepatitis, liver cirosis, rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma, multiple sclerosis, cranial nerves syndrome, scleroderma, old-age dementia, Parkins syndrome, acute deafness, Meny syndrome, dizziness of vascular origin, herpes simplex and zoster, acute ischemy of the retina and retinal artheritis.
Oxygen is also used by people with no health problems but who are affected by «eternal youth syndrome». Scientific explanation of this process is that oxygen enables more effective oxydation of nutrients into energy. In the absence of this essential element, the cell dies. The most frequent causes which prevent normal transport of oxygen are diseases of blood vessels and overall cell functions.
The central therapeutic problem in many diseases, injuries and poisonings is hipoxia (decreased partial pressure of oxygen in tissues) or anoxia (total lack of oxygen in tissues). To fight against hipoxia means to fight for life or death of the cell, tissue and organism as a whole.
Areas of application with positive effect
It has quick and powerful antiedematose effect (less swelling) because it causes vasoconstriction (decreased flow, easier drainage) and leads to speedy recovery
